Kive- Dalu from Kenye

From this www.Kive.org website I learn that these people want to start their business. You can choose the people from any country who you want to give a loan. I feel like everyone deserves a chance to get Lena and stand for themselves. However, if I had to give a loan to one those people, I would choose Dalu. He is from Kenya. He is married and has six children. He has been running for shop business for fourteen years. His money goes to food and school fees. He wants a loan of 80,000 KES to buy more items like wheat flour, maize flour, sugar, and beans in his shop. I think he deserves loan, so he could make his business bigger. I believe that are asking for help than they deserve help.

Environmental Impact Hero Sapiens

I think Environmental Impact Hero Sapiens and it was a very big deal because it is in our hands to save our creators. In the past, most people did not care much about the environment; what they care the most was making money by building factories which pollute the environment and harm other creatures. The industrial Revolution has the bad impact because of industry people use technologies to produce and technologies made it easier, but there was lots of pollution. It damages the environment. Moreover, during the Industrial Revolution people use child labor, especially in the United States and Europe. For example, they use children  to go underground to dig the coals and many people died while they were digging because it is hard to breath and sometime the mud fall down. During Indrustial Revolution many working class people suffered. However, this environmental moment has the huge impact on all the species and their environment. It changes  environment simply by living. Now, many people are working to save the earth, because of the global warming. People believe that everyone has rights to exist.

Father Greg

Father Greg is the founder and director of Homeboy Industries. He is an American Jesuit priest. Homeboy Industries provides jobs to people who are seeking to get out of gangs and do something that makes them proud. The largest number of homeboys and homegirls are young adults who have a lack of support and care from their families. Homeboys provide job training and gives free services. Therefore, these homegirls and homeboys can stand for themselves and help others gangs who are in that situation. Homeboy Industries help to bring positive change in an individual's life and the help of this organization makes a big difference in other people’s lives who is seeking help.

Many of the members of Homeboy were gang members. Since the gang members do not have support from their families, the young adults join a gang where everyone supports each other. For example, if someone beat up their gang member, then their gang will take revenge or do something to that person and support the victims. When the gang members are young, they do not have anything to lose or care about, so they join the gang and do illegal things like use drugs, commit violence and more. At a young age, they ended up in prison. However, many gang members started realizing that they needed to change for the better. Like Mohandas Gandhi said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." Many gang members get help from Homeboy Industries and other organizations. At Homeboy Industries, they welcome gang members with open arms. No one judges what happened to you or what your background is. Homeboy always gives support no matter who you are and what has happened in your life.

Homeboy provides jobs for gang members. Many times gang members are not ready for change, but Homeboy Industries are always there to help when they are ready. Homeboy Industries has helped thousands of gang members to get counseling, remove tattoos, find jobs, and move forward with positive changes in life. For example, large numbers of gang members started going to school, and now they are confident in themselves.

From Father Greg’s speeches, I learned that everyone makes mistakes, but from those mistakes we can learn the lesson to not repeat the same mistakes. The help Homeboy Industries provides makes a big difference in gang members’ lives. We should spend money on job training and schooling, instead of prisons.

Dolores Huerta

Dolores Huerta is one of the activist who was involved in the American Civil Rights Movement and fought for farmers to get same rights as other workers. She worked with Cesar Chavez and, the United Farm Workers’ Union. Lated she was the founding board member of the Feminist Majority Foundation and crusader against domestic violence. Huerta believe  that we have to create a world of justice and peace, so we need education for everyone to make it possible. 

Huerta believes that we should have human rights where everyone will be able to get an education. However, nowadays in developed countries like the United States, the government spends most of its money on war, instead of education. Developed country. For example, now there is war in Iraq because the US wants oil and the US thinks, “ how our oil get in their sand.” This war has caused many problems in middle class and lower class people’s lives. It is because lower class and middle class children are not able to continue their school due to financial hardship. But the children from rich families have an easy time continuing their education. For example, the rich children don’t have to worry about debt and loans, but if the lower and middle class children attend college, they have to work for a very long time paying their debt and loans. Therefore, in this country there are some people who are too rich, and others are poor and who have a hard time buying even a house or surviving. Huerta thoughts were in some way similar to Karl Marx because Marx believed that the working class work very hard, and they have very, very hard time changing the class because the upper class does not want to share the power, and they do not want to change classes. The majority of people are poor in the world, and it is in our hands to create a positive change where everyone can have a free education and similar stander of living.

In many parts of the world, women do not have the same level of education as men. Many times men tried to own a woman's body, and women could not do anything because men have all the power. In the modern era, if both men and women do not have equal power, it will be very hard to move the country forward. Without the women having full rights and safety, when half the population will not be free, then that country will be left behind. All over the world, women have similar situations. These problems might exist in the US, but they are not as pervasive. We all have to work together as a one to promote women’s rights.

After I heard a Huerta’s speech, I learned that we have to try new things out of our comfort zone. When I grew up in refugee camp, most of the time men made the decisions and women’s opinions were not as important as men. I thought that that is how everything was supposed to work. However, when I came to the USA, I learned to be independent, and it is very different than the culture I grew in up. I have still a hard time speaking up due to culture. Now, I realize that we need some change to make a positive difference. We have the power to change the world.

The Circassians are mostly Muslim. During the 19th century the Russian Empire took their Homeland. The Circassians fought  so determinedly that the Russians decided to remove them,  by killing or deporting them. It was called the first modern genocide.

Eastern Europe fought with America and British desired for open and democratic societies with capitalist world economic. There was division between Eastern and Western Europe, but war does not happened between the two sides. However, in Asia during the Cold War, the Communist was globalizing China, Korea, and Vietnam and it led to dangerous War. In Vietnam, Communist military took control over Southern Vietnam, but the United States was helping Northern Vietnam to have democracy. Soviet and China wanted Vietnam to be Communist nation. Many many people died in Vietnam war. Eventually, Communist took control over Vietnamese in 1975. 

During the Cold War era, Afghanistan had the third major military conflict. Soviet leader were happy at this extension of Communism on the Southern border, but Afghan women isolated on this conservation that led to opposition movement. In 1989, Soviet forces withdrew Afghan into Communist. 

Nuclear Standoff and Third World Rivalry

Nuclear Weapons was the most novel and dangerous factor of the Cold War. When World War II ended, America was the powerful nation. American control those weapons. During those decades the world moved from a ordinary handful of nuclear weapons to a global weapon stores. A single boom in single prompt destroy major city in the world. Many people around the world lived in the shadow of powerful and dangerous weapons. Cold War was the worries the Communist penetration prompted involvement. Superpower support the third world countries. Some countries like Indonesia got the aid from Eastern Europe, but they did not stopped destroying the Indonesian Communist Party. 

The United States: Superpower of the West, 1945-1975

The United States play a global role after World War II in many ways. It is the powerful nation in the world where there are strong economically and politically. The United States have had more then 1,000,000 soldiers in 30 countries. Most of the secret decision making happen in the United States with a "imperial" presidency and a "national security states." In 1919's the US has been the industrial society. Since the United export goods to abroad, "The whole world is hungry of American goods."

How a first wave is different from a second wave of European Conquest?
          A first wave happened between 1492 to 1700 and it was in North and South American.
Spain and Portugal were the colonies and there was a massive demographic impact. In America, there was "The Great Dying," where majority of Native people died. That is because the Europeans' introducing diseases into the native tribes. The tribes did not have immunity to these diseases, so many, many people died. The Europeans' were determined to come to American because God, Gold, and Glory. However, most of the Europeans' stayed here in America permanently. Moreover, these Europeans' influence Christianity to native people. 
      On the other hand, a second wave happened between 1750 to 1950 and it was in Asia and Africa. Germany  Japan. the United States, Italy, and Belgium are the country that got involved in second wave. The Europeans' tried control by economic power and the military force and they were likely to cause war. The interesting fact was that in a second wave there was insignificant demographic impact, but in a first wave there was huge demographic impact. These Europeans'  did not colonized permanently. The Europeans' work with local leaders, at the same time they introduce capital market, labor, and trading their natural resources. In nineteen century, the British take over Austria and  New Zealand and it was very similar to earlier colonization.

Apartheid: Apartheid was a system of racial separation which happened from 1848 to 1994, in South Africa. Apartheid was developed in World War II. The Europeans colonized South Africa. Before Europeans' colonized South Africa, the word like race or people with color, such as black, brow, and white.did not exist Later there was racial difference between people from different tribe. During that period of time the white people ruled South Africa. However, the South Africans did not had right and they had their own separate place. For example, South African needed a pass laws to work. This study shows us that the Europeans' colonized many countries around the world by force and some of the things last permanently and some did not.

The Haitian Revolution 1791-1804 

Before Haitian Revolution the production of sugar and coffee were very popular. In Haiti the majority population were slave. For example, 500,000 slaves and 40,000 whites and 30,000 mixed race. Suit Domingo was colonial society. However, it was very different from the New England colonies and other European society. The Haitian Revolution influenced by France Revolution and North America Revolution in knowledge of human rights and dignity. They also had an ideas about personal freedom that threatened the rich people. Soon all people had equal power, but the politics was unstable. In nineteen century, Jamaician compost a song of hope for other slaves in other part of the world and it wake/inspire people. The Haitian Revolution was the successful revolution which free slavery in the history.

Spanish American Revolution 1810-1825
In Spanish American Revolution, the movement wasn't organized, so it break into small pieces. There was not a big movement, but instead there was individuals movement. At that time catholic church wasn't born.

There was a out side power went to different places and put the boundaries. There was different ethnicity. In nineteen century nationalism proved infinitely flexible and enormously power idea. Nationalism took two different political ideologies and they are Democracy and Representative.

France Revolution influence the American Revolution

The Atlantic Revolution began in France in 1789. France helped Americans during American Revolution by providing army and money because France didn't had good relationship with England. France people return with ideas of independent  However there was bankrupted, but people in France started talking about freedom and independent.

Although, American Revolution was different than France Revolution. American Revolution was about being independent from Britain and having freedom. However, France Revolution had problem within France people. In France there was three "estates," the first were 2 percent of population and everyone else were in the third estate. Everyday the third estates had to deal with landlords, had to pay taxes for states, obligations to the church and had to work on public roads without pay. For five years there was more violent than American Revolution. For example, the third estates people attacked castles of their lord, burned documents where their dues and payment were recorded. Another example is that, in 1789 there was still king, but eventually people killed the king.The third estate organized Assembly and few weeks after the Declaration passed, the Rights of man and citizen, "men are born and remain free and equal in rights." 

In 1792, there was fresh starting in France. For the first time France become a republic and declaration passed. France organized war to threatening neighbors, they had  largest army in the world because all adults men wee required to serve for their country. This France Revolution impact in many France people life. The royal family were destroyed and first time many people joined political clubs. Many people were proud to say that they belong to the Nation. 

American Revolution was influence from France Revolution. At the end of nineteenth century, the United States become the world power and inspired other countries for revolution and Constitution. 

European Moment and Revolutions.

During 1750 and 1914, the new type of society was created and it was called "modern." On those period, in all the western Europe, there was growth on scientific, French, and industrial revolution. Those societies learned many things from the history, people think more positive for others, like people were against slavery. These societies influence other human beings. However, the European empires take over India, Southeast Asia and Africa. Other place the European didn't control much.

The Europeans had power to rewrite the history and geography and change other people view. That's the main reason why there is lack of real history. Few decades after World War II, the scholars and teachers real history, but at that time they were dealing with other problem. All though the European moment run on global scale, they enjoyed two centuries. For example, Europeans colonized and control over India. While British ruled India, Indian people still practice there own religion and it was Hindu and Muslim. Moreover, Native Americans were dying from Europeans disease  Europe history get connected with other people, religions, and cultures.

In Scientific Revolution, European drew Islam science and get new knowledge around the world. In Industrial Revolution, the European get resources from new world. Europeans were seeking to gain advantage and benefit from new situations. The most interesting of modern world history is that European not just influence western culture, but they also show inequality among people and show cultural difference among people.

American Revolution gave birth to the United States. When Americans were struggling for independence from British and it is called Declaration of Independence  Atlantic Revolution had same ideas like cultural exchange, intellectual, and biological intercourse. Human political and social arrangements could improve human action. In American Revolution there was a political change, but only for white men; women or color people  did not had rights like to vote, going to school and more. Through the histories people influence people, so there is always change on people and history.

Religion and Science

"This country wasn't founded on Muslim beliefs or evolution. The Country was found on Christianity  and our students should be taught as such." 

--> I disagree with the ides how students should learn about Christianity because I thought that Native people founded this country, so I believe that we should learn about their history and culture, Not Christianity. However, I think that the America is place where there is people from all around the world. So I think that there should not be one religion different than another religion. There should equal between all religions and people have their on choices. For example, people can choose their religion or not choose the religion. 

In the United States, there was a problem between modern science and some christian believes. On the historian events of the early modern era. Religion and science have different way of understanding the world. Getting to know the current European empire building and commercial, Christianity was established in the American and Philippines; later in China, India, Siberia, and Japan; and not much in country there was large number of Islam growing. In modern era there was cultural intercourse, in short, were not a "one-way Street." 

Martin Luther in a man who worried about not having relationship with God. However, later he learned that if you have faith on God and help others who are needed for help than God will save you and you don't go to sin. 

In Modern early era, Colonial colonist and traders, and at the same  they teach other people about their religion. Christianity become very popular in Spanish American and China and many starter practice. 

I think that Native people in Spain are more stronger with there own religion than people from China because it seems like Chinese people are more involve in Christianity than Native people from Spain. 

Nowadays, many people around the world believe in Christianity. 

 

Commerce in People: The Atlantic Slave Trade

            Global network is linked commercial of early modern world. The trade were spices and textiles, silver and gold, beaver pelts and deerskin  slaves and sugar. Four centuries ago, more or less II million African people shipped across the Atlantic to the America as a slaves. People who sold and captured the slaves were outsiders, and those people didn't had strong community, which made it easy of people who were getting slave for money. In the America there were three different races slaves and they were some European  African and Native American. Lots of Native Americans died from European disease. From the slavery the word Racism come because there were two colored people black and white. They owned and exchanged slaves, but at that time it wasn't a big deal. 

           The European learned about sugar production from Arabic people and later European formed their own sugar production in west Africa, America and more countries. Sugar production was the first modern industry with new technologies. The Europeans made slaves do all the hard and dangerous work. The Europeans take all the profit from the sugar production and their country had good economic condition. However in the America, African became the main source for plantation the economic system. In the modern era people are more dependent on the world market. 

Sweet Nexus: Sugar And The Origins Of The Modern World

Everything we eat, the material we use on clothing and housing are the product made by people we don't even know. They may live in different parts of the world and have cultural difference. Buying and selling each day in connected to the global market around the world, comes together. Global market is even present today because everyday million of people buy their goods in their daily bases.

Trading a common goods is the part of the human experience from long time ago. In societies people give more value to hierarchical societies. For example, if you buy tow pair of pants and one made in china and another made in France. On this two pants there will be a price different because of quality and the social economic system of the nation.

Country like England and France have money and labor and natural resources of other societies. For exampled, the early century Great British and some European country colonize different parts of the world and they use labors, but they talk all the products to their country and take all the profit. That is the main reason why the north western Europe become the powerful and wealthy ( Core ) country and Africa, Asia, and the America were periphery countries.

From seventeen century, people started using coffee  tea, cocoa, tobacco, and sugar from far distances and that was the time it become very popular.  

Sugar
Sugar build the modern economic of England in seventeen and Eighteen centuries. England use the labor and resources of other country, like the America, Asia and African , but they added the value and take all the profits.

There are four stage of making the sugar:
First: Sugar grow in hot place.
Second: They need labors for all the seasons.
Third: put the price of the sugar in large scale.
Fourth: processing the business and enterprise.

The poor people spent their money on sugar and tea because if you drink one cup of tea it will make you full and they don't have to worry of getting hungry. It is very unhealthy to drink tea instead of meal but people don't do this with you their choice.

The two extremes of the plantation are master and field slave. They nee machines and labor all year long.
The profit of sugar mostly goes to Europe because of the early appearance of factory production.

European Empires and Asian Empires

The western Europeans made their empire in the USA, and Russia became the largest empire in Europe.

In 17th century, in Russia large number of people mostly did hunting, gathering, and herding people, who did not have weapons or power. Some Russian immigrants to the new land, the empires gave them "wealth 

and social status" because the were educated. 

When Russia try to be more powerful empire, they made modern weapons and guns. Than, Russia control  both the steeps and Siberia and Russian took native people land and made them pay tax which was fur from animals. Many native people learn language, change religion into Christine and life style. They lose their traditional and cultural group.   Russia become very large territories, but with quite small population.

Asia and Europe had problem for 300 years because Russia was between Asia and Europe.

- The Mughal Empire: The Mughal Empire was in India. It was also created from warrior group. There are
                                   two main ethnicity in this empire. They are Hindu and Muslim. Muslim rule this

In the early eighteen century, Chinese control the territory. However, now in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, some people are looking for independent. In other hand the colones started coming to the USA and they bring slaves. The early modern empire are China, Russia, and the USA. At that time there was a big change like older societies were destroying. For example, people started flowing different religions.
More and more immigrants coming the east cost of the USA. The Europeans and African came the the US with diseases which killed large number of Native people. Moreover, many new arrives died from hunger. Europeans  African, and Native people work together and create a society. In modern era corn and potato were the popular food.

American colones developed the processes of globalization and make world economic of the early modern.
However, the Colonies very different work for different ethnic of people. On sugar-production slave had very difficult condition. On those days light skin people were more wealthy and educated than dark skin.
Many Colones brought their culture with them, but many other changed it and become Quakers or Massachusetts. During nineteenth and twentieth centuries the Colonial world changed into the USA.

What is like to be Modern?

To be Modern means to be in present or something that happen recent.
The five era are Paleolithic, Neolithic, Ancient, Classical, and Modern.
In early Modern era there was problem, but it is changed.
For example, in the US every have equality for all different color people.
However, some people think that modern era is changing Post Modern
era. For example, now there is African President and it is a big deal for
all American.
